No, a referral is not necessary.
The initial session will include the completion of intake information and a confidentiality agreement.

All information that you disclose in your session is confidential.
There are two exceptions to this rule. The first exception is if you are at risk of harm to yourself or someone else and the second exception is in relation to court orders.
If either of these situations become relevant your counsellor will discuss this with you.
The counselling service is not eligible for the Medicare rebate as I am a Counsellor and not a Psychologist or Social Worker.
Claiming the Medicare rebate may save you some money but it may also limit your choice of therapeutic modalities and interventions.
Payment is made via cash or credit/debit card or bank transfer.
Online consultations are invoiced and payment is due prior to the appointment.
A receipt will be provided.
You may find it necessary to cancel your appointment.
If this is the case, please inform me of your notice to cancel within 24 hours of your appointment.
Failure to do so within this time frame will result in a charge of 50% of the consultation fee.
A missed consultation with no notice will be charged at the full rate.
You can choose to receive counselling via Telehealth video call or telephone.
If you would prefer to have a face to face session then the following COVID-19 safety plan is in operation.
You will be asked to report any symptoms such as fever, cough, sneezing, sore throat or potential exposure.
No, however persons with self-managed plans are seen for private counselling sessions. Invoices will be sent to you or the Plan Manager.
